God Is Alive And Well In Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Canada!

My name is Ruth Wiebe and I attend a young church (six years old) called "Solid Rock Ministries" in Portage la Prairie (population around 13,000) Manitoba, Canada. Manitoba is situated right in the middle of our great nation of Canada.
Our pastor is a young man who is sold out 150% to God. He was employed as a baker for Safeway when God called him and his wife into the ministry. His wife is the Praise and Worship leader. Our pastor kept on working at Safeway for about two years and pastored at the same time and then left his secular job and has been pastoring full time for about the past four years.
God has given this pastor a vision of seeing the entire city of Portage la Prairie won for Jesus and this is our goal. I wish to share with you some of the miracles and signs and wonders God has and is doing in our midst!
We are renting a small church building and about 2 ½ years ago our congregation purchased a building valued at $100,000 for $10,000 in the north end of our city! Miracle! We are in the process of renovating this building and our vision is to move into the north end where there is so much heartache, pain, single moms with families and a lot of drug abuse.
We have gone through a shaking time and now our congregation is in unity and drawing closer and closer to our Lord Jesus. Our pastor, Pastor Dave Byers, is teaching people to seek His Presence, His face, not just His hands. As we are seeking Him, His Presence is manifest over and over and over again. Allow me to share some miracles with you.
*A lady who has suffered with severe depression for many years, was suicidal and on medication for depression since 1998 has been totally and completely delivered! This is a miracle in action. As she and her husband sat under the teaching of the Word and began applying it the depression gradually lifted until one day God told her she did not need this medication anymore. What an awesome miracle!
*A man (Brent) who has been on Ritalin and other medication for 20 years began attending our church. Pastor Byers has spent many, many hours with him and every time the church doors are open this gentleman is there and asks for prayer nearly every service. About a month ago, his specialist told him, "you do not need this medication any longer". Brent is improving all the time; his speech is becoming more clear, his eyes are not "cloudy" and his walk is much more steady. He is also believing God for the restoration of his marriage and family! This same gentleman has had miraculous debt reduction as well. He had a lot of outstanding debts. One company forgave him a debt between $300 to $400 and sent him a rebate cheque of $100 as well!
*Someone who was addicted to cigarettes for nearly 20 years was totally delivered! As a congregation we prayed over a kleenex, his wife took it home, told her husband about the prayer and he placed the kleenex under his pillow. Total deliverance!
*A young man who accepted Jesus into his heart about three years ago after being in prison and part of a large gang had totally smashed his legs and ankles after jumping off a roof of a building as he was trying to escape police officers. This young man is sold out to Jesus and he is walking out his healing. Doctors said he would never walk again; he walks, bicycles, runs and his ankles are loosening up more and more. This young man was on a life support system because he had swallowed a plastic bag full of street drugs which he was planning to "pass through" his system and then sell the dope. The bag burst in his body as he was showering and he says the last thing he remembers was doing the "chicken dance" in the shower. He was immediately transferred from the prison to a hospital. Doctors said there was no brain activity and they asked permission from the parents to unplug the life support. This young man's sister attended our church and she and others were standing at his bedside day after day praying for his healing and God did it again! He came out of the coma after several days. Doctors had said he would not be able to read, not speak properly, etc. He is 100% whole and even graduated from two years of Bible School this past January.
*A man in his 50's was very hard of hearing and wore a hearing aid. His ears are about 75% normal and he says his hearing is improving each day. Praise God!
*A lady in her early 50's was healed of high blood pressure - her blood pressure went from 214 over 119 to 139 over 83 in a matter of one day! God is so good!
*A young couple in the congregation received a little three day old baby into their home. Due to the birth mother's severe abuse of drugs the baby was very tiny and could only open her eyes a mere slit and never focused. A few weeks ago during a Sunday morning service two young girls ages nine and ten laid hands on this baby and prayed and the baby's eyes popped wide open and she began looking around and focusing. Jesus did it again!
*A little eight year old boy had suffered from migraine headaches and through the teaching of the Word in church and from his mother at home he spoke to the enemy and commanded the migraine to be gone and he is healed!
*A lot of emotional healing has taken place as well.
*The Praise and Worship leader has been stepping out in faith as God is giving her love songs from Him to the corporate congregation and at other times to certain individuals.
*The children are seeing pictures from the Lord; some of them will intercede during the services and now several are stepping out and praying for the adults as well as the children. What an awesome time!
