Seven Weeks of God's Presence in Narrabri NSW
(Report 18th August 2002)
This has been the seventh week of the outpouring of the Spirit of God in Narrabri Christian Outreach Centre. These have been the most awesome weeks of our lives as He is training us to walk with Him in a way that we have never experienced before. By "us" I am referring to the people in our fellowship who have been believing and praying for His Presence to fill the temple. He is calling us to "come up here" in the wee small hours of the morning and become "Marys", sitting at His feet in love and adoration, listening to His voice and responding in a greater measure of obedience to His Word and what he is calling us to do.
On Sunday 11th August, God in His sovereignty "took over" the meeting. The glory of God swept through as waves of people fell to the floor in disarray. Intercession and travail broke out and repentance flooded peoples? hearts, as the onionskins of denial were peeled away revealing their "real" state of heart before a holy God. The Spirit of the Lord is now moving sovereignly touching peoples' lives, where there is spontaneity of breaking and weeping as God is revealing, dealing with and healing hearts.
One lady sitting up the back who was visiting from the Anglican Church was incredibly touched by God. She had never experienced God moving in this way before, and when Wayne called from the front, "Stand up, the fire of God is all over you", she moved into the aisle to respond and as the power of God hit her, she crumpled to the ground, collecting some chairs on the way. When she hit the floor, laughter filled the air as the joy of the Lord filled her soul. For the rest of the meeting she laughed and laughed as God dealt with areas of pain with the joy that is our strength. After speaking with her later that week she was still walking with lightness in her step and joy in her heart.
A testimony, from one woman who we have been ministering to for quite some time, and whose life has seen one tragedy after another with multiple suicide attempts, is now healed and set free. Now she is able to look to the future and leave the past behind. Only God could have reached into her life and effected the changes she needed. Praise His awesome Name.
On Sunday 18th after some initial resistance, there was breakthrough and the Spirit of God moved powerfully and sovereignly. There were a number of visitors present wanting more of God, and each one was touched with healing in the areas that they needed. One group had travelled 6 hours from the coast just to come to church and their hunger for God was satisfied with more of Him. At one point the Lord was moving in restoration of marriages and then in "hopelessness" where our divine hope, Jesus, ministered life and hope into peoples' lives.
Weeping, laughing and people unable to stand under the power of God were some of the manifestations of His Presence in this meeting. Two men standing up the back were "flung" backwards after Wayne spoke from the front, "The power of God is on you, now!" They were picked up off their feet before falling to the ground in laughter. A number of people fell off their chairs spontaneously during the meeting, and in a couple of locations around the church the smell of incense was noted by different people and the taste, smell and feel of honey being poured out.
There were visions of a meteor shower and one of a bright light with people "rising up" and being lifted into the bright light through the ceiling.
God moved in tithes and offerings as many people stood to honour our Lord with hands raised and again during Communion the same thing happened. As people brought honour to the Lord, He moved amongst us, some fell and others wept.
Wayne spoke on the Lordship of Jesus and how He wants to rule and reign in our lives not just be our Saviour. A considerable number of people were moved to respond, dedicating their lives afresh and making Him Lord over every area of their lives.
Some testimonies.
People in the world are now seeing that there have been some real and measurable changes in people they have known before they were saved. One example within the ?horse scene? in Narrabri, a young man who has been saved for about a year now, has had that much change brought about in his life through his relationship with Jesus, his life of alcohol and drug-taking has taken a complete turnaround. He is now on-fire for Jesus and a comment from one of the people in the horse scene, "If that is what church does for Jonno then it won't be long before I'm there."
Another conversation, which has come back to us taking place between the younger brother and cousin of one of our ladies and her oldest brother in the fellowship. "You know they're calling us in, don't you, I can feel it."
After checking with the 10 people who responded to the specific word for healing in their sciatic nerve three weeks ago, it was discovered that there has been no pain experienced in 9 of those people since then. Give You all the Glory Lord.
Something that is interesting to note as well. There has been a number of different reports that alcohol consumption in the town is being reduced. Narrabri is a town with 8 hotels and 3 licensed clubs in a town of 8,500. We welcome any reduction in the consumption of alcohol.
