Youth In Pursuit Of Destiny

Youth in Pursuit of Destiny
Surging with energy, this Friday night service refused to be contained within the banks of any religious tradition or lifeless form as the youth of World Revival Church took over. From the haunting human video about the youth in this nation to the final altar call, these teens blazed their way through the evening, catching many of the adults in their wake and pulling them onward and upward. Propelled by a holy zeal for the honor of God, this group of kids is rushing to their destiny, and they are challenging the rest of us to run with them.
Most of the youth had just returned from a ministry trip to South Carolina, and their eyes and hearts were opened to the tragic condition of many teenagers today. Several spoke with cracking voices and tears about the emptiness they saw, an emptiness that seemed to go on forever... and this was the state of teens who were in the church. One young man pleaded with the congregation to accept God's call for this church to step up higher for the sake of the people around us, the people across the street. His impassioned plea pierced the hearts of many, blatantly exposing their own lack of compassion for others.
The next young lady to take the microphone looked like she should be the captain of the cheer leading squad, but as the first words came out of her mouth, it was obvious that she is living for something much bigger than fun and popularity. Pacing across the front of the sanctuary, jumping with power waiting to be unleashed, she shouted her challenge for the members of WRC to step out and dare to be different. With the passion in her soul reflected by the fire in her eyes, she yelled, "This is for the salvation of the Jews; this could be the turning point for the world! It is your choice, your call! Are you going to be a living sacrifice? This youth group is going to run for this whether you are or not!" As one man, the congregation jumped to their feet, shouting their commitment to run after God with all their strength.
The youth minister, Dustin Smith, brought it all together as he turned to the story of David and Goliath where the entire army talked big but did nothing. He pointed out that everybody has a war cry, but they usually just end up hiding behind their shields waiting for a David to step out. He promised that this youth group would be the David for the adults, but God is looking for this entire church to be a David.
As the teenage prayer warriors assembled at the front for ministry time, Dustin pushed the issue by asking if we were willing to run to the battle lines instead of merely shouting. People literally ran to the front as the call rang out, "Run! Run! Run! Run!" Parents rushed toward their own children for prayer, desperately wanting the same strength and fervor to run with them into their shared destiny in God. The battle lines have long been drawn, but on this night, the army cast aside all thought for their own comfort and fearlessly rushed into this battle for the honor of the Lord. In hot pursuit of the enemy, they run with all their might, victory in their eyes.
