Freshfire Revival Conference
Freshfire started on Sunday 1st September 2002 in the local Churches in Ballymena, Northern Ireland. Ballymena is the epicentre of almost all Revivals in Ireland, including the 1859 Ulster Revival. From Monday through Saturday it was in Ballymena Town Hall each night.
We approached the Gatekeepers (Church Leaders) near the beginning of 2002, shared our vision and asked for permission to hold Revival meetings in the town each night for one week. We asked for their permission, support and blessing and said we would not have a Freshfire independently.
God clearly told us to go to the traditional Churches, and that is what we did. The vision was presented to the Ministers Fellowship, and after meeting me and asking questions about our motive, purpose and vision they give their blessing to holding Freshfire the first week in September.
11 people travelled from America for this conference, Peter Cavasoz came with 3 people and Terri Neal had 7 people from Sceptre International Ministries. We had transport to go sightseeing during the day, but only went on two days. The only thing anybody wanted to do was pray, these prayer times just went on and on with probably the most intense prayer I have ever experienced. One hour prayer meetings went on for 3 & 4 hours. The word we all got was the key to Revival is given in 2 Chronicles ch 7 v 14. We were all changed by this intense heart felt prayer, there was a lot of weeping between the porch and the altar.
There was anointed Praise and Worship, and a different Revival Speaker each evening, no speaker or singer was ever introduced, we were afraid of taking even a little bit of the glory away from God. There was people praying from the front for Revival each evening, what mighty prayers they prayed, everybody was touched and changed by these prayers.
I believe that Freshfire has encouraged the family of God in Ballymena to pray more intensely and more urgently for Revival. They see people praying for them in Lewis, other parts of Scotland, Wales, England, Holland, South Africa, Australia and America. This is great encouragement, the realiization that they are not on their own. With the Internet, there are people praying in other places we don't even know about. God has the eyes of the world on the Celtic Nations, that is why the time for Revival in the Celtic Nations is now.
On the first night, we prayed for some people, and reports are now coming about healings, arthritis healed and eyesight restored.
Give thanks to God for His faithfulness and for answered prayer. Freshfire was to help kick-start Revival, and through answered prayer this has happened. Pray that the fire started will burn bright and will not go out, it needs to be fuelled by the prayers of people with humble hearts.
