Malaysia Stirrings Of Revival
January 23, 2003
Stirrings of Revival The waters are being stirred and the wind is beginning to blow on the nation of Malaysia. As we travel throughout the country more and more pastors are beginning to sense and believe that revival is coming. There have been many prophesies over many different cities across the nation that revival is going to start in their city. Many are praying and believing it is going to happen in their church first. Everyone wants to be the first, the place where it will all begin. Maybe it is because of the publicity, the recognition or that they may think they are more special or holy to be chosen first. There is so much spiritual pride and competition in the Church world wide today. The goal is to be bigger and more well known nationally and internationally. I believe that God is going to pour out revival on the entire nation of Malaysia, from the north to the south and the east to the west. It will start across the entire nation and spread like wildfire. And no man or denomination will be able to take credit for what God is going to do. The pastors and ministers we talk to are beginning more and more to catch the vision of what God is doing and the prayer and desire is beginning to rise. Part of what we do is to speak to people about what true revival is and what the cost is not only to receive it but to maintain it. The price is high and the sacrifice is great and I do not know if anyone can really understand it until they come face to face with it. I firmly believe God is going to use the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. Everyone wants more knowledge on how to grow their church. God wants more of our heart and devotion to Him. For us to put ALL of our trust and dependence on Him and Him alone. When things continue to shake even more violently then they are we will stand.
Light in the Midst of Darkness The east side of peninsular Malaysia is some of the hardest ground there is. There is about 1% believers and the government is ruled by the strict Islamic party, PAS. Pastors come to this area and stay on the average two to three years before fleeing to the west side and cities like Kuala Lumpur to minister. The pastors become very discouraged because of small congregations and no hope of growth. There is also very little help from ministries on the other side of the country. Just before the first meeting the lights went out around the city. There was no light anywhere except in the worship hall where we were. God was showing them that they were the light in the darkness and it shined bright.
