Soaking In San Pablo, California With Joe Cicchino
April 13, 2004
The Lord let the worship team relax with everybody else tonight. We put on some worship CD's softly and mic'd up Joe Cicchino with the cordless lapel - you've gotta keep his hands free, you know, he is Italian, just let him hold your hands awhile, you'll see what I mean!
It didn't take long for the presence of the Lord to be noticeable. Several started making their way up to the altar steps right from the start, going for intimacy with all three Members of the Trinity. You couln't really make out the words of the songs on the CD's they were so soft, but the things Joe was saying helped everyone get more intimate with God.
Many had pain surfacing they hadn't completely resolved yet so Joe walked them through that process. Some breezed through into greater freedom and intimacy while others took a little longer. We're talking children and youth as well as adults.
Most of us were laying out all over the Sanctuary on the floor - it looked like a normal soaking session, only we had an experienced soaker with us leading the way. That was real cool.
Just a few of the testimonies I was able to get from folks -
1. from a Presbyterian woman who traveled from the other side of the Bay who said God had released more of her past hurts and she was feeling the Presence of the Holy Spirit and total peace.
2. from a young adult male, "I was still holding unforgiveness towards my parents and some high school friends. I was able to forgive them and understand that God knows. I feel more peace."
3. a young female adult said, "As soon as I walked through the door I felt the Presence of God. I wanted to just cry and cry. It felt wonderful to let it out and know God wants to take away my pains and sorrow. I feel happy, at peace. I feel like I can go home and have a peaceful sleep tonight, something I've been without for a long time. I want to tell everyone about Jesus and love on them!"
Many also received words of knowledge that helped their faith and to free them up and encourage them more. A few received the baptism in the Holy Spirit and began using their prayer language.
Sounds like a pretty good start, what will tomorrow night be like? More, Lord, more....!
A happy Pastor;
