MOZAMBIQUE TRAVEL TEAM TRIP REPORT

Randy Clark and Global Awakening's team of 30 people joined up with Jill Austin and her small team to work with Rolland and Heidi Baker and Iris Ministries in Mozambique.

The team flew into Maputo and spent 3 days at the children's center. Some of the team went to the bocaria (garbage dump) to minister, pray for the sick, give out food and have church. Others went on an overnight outreach to a village 3 hours away. It was the first time the people there had ever seen a movie the Jesus film. Local pastors preached and many (almost all) responded to the message of salvation. About 1000 people were there. The global team prayed for the sick and people came forward to testify of their healings. It was quite an experience and challenge, but awesome to see God at work. It was good preparation for the rest of the trip.

The team had some awesome time praying, worshipping and ministering together. We were able to see the Maputo base and help out in many ways, even just loving a child.

On Sunday, the team was able to see what church was like in Zimpeto…lots of children and powerful worship with lots of dancing. Prayer was given for those who were sick. Jill Austin preached and challenged the Christians there.

Then, the Global team divided with about half leaving Maputo and the "children's center team" behind and flew to Nampula, 4 hours north. The next morning the team headed out into the bush-bush, a 5-6 hour drive in Land Rovers over rough roads. We spend 4 days there in Iapolo for a bush conference. In true missionary style, the team camped under starry skies, without running water or electricity. Our bathroom was a little hut with a hole in the ground; our shower was a little hut with a bucket of water. Each of the 4 days had 3 meetings. Each morning Heidi, Jill, Randy or Rolland preached. Each afternoon the global travel team got the opportunity to preach, do teaching, skits, etc. Each night a movie was shown: the Jesus film in Portuguese and Makua (the local language) and for the first time The Passion of the Christ movie was shown. Each night there was over 1000 people up to 1500 people. The message of salvation was given and many enthusiastically responded. Almost every hand went up, everyone wants Jesus. It is even more significant that this is in a Muslim province. This is just the beginning of the work there. The focus was not only on saving the lost but on equipping the pastors. Much prayer and impartation was given to the pastors by the global team during the day.

Pemba is in the province of Cabo Delgado a major Muslim area where God has started to move. It's where previously the missionaries have struggled to get a few converts, but now churches are being planted. There was a real hunger and missionary passion among the pastors at the conference. Mornings, afternoon and night there was teaching and prayer for them. One night while Jill was preaching, God broke through. Prayer and intercession and worship allowed God to break open the meeting. Many got touched and fell under the power of God. Three or four children were laid out on the stage and showed signs of having encounters with God. No doubt these children were seeing the spiritual realm, possibly taken into heaven. It was amazing to worship with and pray for these future nation changers. We were able to see into this present revival and where it is headed. We had the opportunity to do another short outreach ˝ hour from Pemba. We showed the Jesus film and about 3000 people showed up to view it. A salvation message was given and the team prayed for the sick. It was challenging and the reality of being in a Muslim territory started to sink in. It's just the beginning of the work here.

One afternoon the travel team met with Leslie Anne Leighton, an itinerant missionary. As she shared her testimony and encounters with Jesus, God fell in the room and we were all touched by God and laid out on the floor. Heidi shared with us as well and Heidi, Rolland and some of her children prayed for us. There was a real missions focus a new breed of missionaries. Heidi called for 4 life missionaries and they responded. I think about 500 people came hungry for more. Much prayer for healing was given every night but at other times as well. Many testified each night of the miraculous power of God to heal. People who were demonized were called forward and prayed for. Many healings took place: eye problems corrected, deaf eyes opened, 2 people spoke their first words "papa", STD's healed, back problems, many other healings. Hard to keep track of numbers as it is quite a crazy setting, but each travel team member has stories. One afternoon Jill was preaching and calling for an Acts 2 experience many were touched and fell under the power of God as we prayed, including small children. Iapolo is effectively changed. This is a village in the province where 10 people have been raised from the dead by 1 family. In 4 days our total group of 40 people helped to usher in the Kingdom of God. The pastors there are now equipped to carry on the work. Iris bought a piece of property and plans to build a church there.

After Iapolo the teams headed on a 5-6 hour drive north to Pemba to the base that Iris has there. We spent 3 days putting on a conference for the pastors from the Bible school and the local area. It was an interesting drive squeezed into the Land Rover after a van broke down. Much prayer and impartation was given to the pastors and many got touched by God. We were able to see some of what God has in store for the future. The team was also fortunate to have Jill Austin share and prophesy over them. It was amazing to hear the destinies called forth and brought real unity among the team. Many were touched with powerful manifestations of the Holy Spirit. The meeting went into the early hours of the next day.

So, it's hard to sum up everything that went on in Mozambique. I can confidently say we are all changed, different, more hungry, more radical for God. We've seen God work in the most hopeless situations. Many destinies were called forth on this trip. We were privileged enough to see and be a part of this end time move of God arguably the biggest ever. It's just the beginning. It was amazing to get thrown into so many different circumstances and stretched and thrown out of our boxes.

I Samuel 2:8
"He raises up the poor out of the dust and lifts up the needy from the
ash heap, to make them sit with nobles and inherit the throne of glory"
