Tulare For The 4th - How We Need The River, How We Need The Rain
June 30, 2004
Fri, 25 Jun 2004 From: Pastor Ken Bowman info@tularevisitation.org The Tulare Visitation Jubilee Christian Fellowship Pastor Ken Bowman 322 S "G" Street Tulare, CA 93274 559-687-8234 http://www.tularevisitation.org
It was just a year ago that I sat on the porch of Jubilee Christian Fellowship in Tulare and was awestruck by what I have come to love so greatly. Again this year my family will spend the day in Tulare sitting with the Lord. What a wonderful place to be. Sitting at the feet of Jesus.
The letters keep coming in. So many amazing stories of healing, of marriages restored, of families restored, so many salvations, so many totally "ruined" for anything less then being in His Presence.
What a privilege to be a part of such a wondrous time as this. We read of Azusa street and many other moves of God. What a wonder to actually be a part.
I was reflecting back when my family and I visited The Brownsville Revival when the lines were long. There was one little lady at the front of the line everyday. She came with her chair, lunch, and children in tow. I asked her how often she came. Her reply has stayed with me all these days. She just looked up at me and said, "If Jesus came to your town wouldn't you been there everyday?" She told me she would come everyday until it was over. I have learned how she felt.
There is nothing more beautiful then to dwell in the house of the Lord when He is there.
Linda from Washington state came to visit not too long ago. She gave us her letter and said to print it because others needed to know about Tulare. Below is her letter:
It is so simple, why is it so rare. I love this place.
People come in all day long and sit or lay on the altar. All types of people, families, street people, strong young men. They come to wait on the Lord.
Women in nice cars come in and dance with the flags, the pastor laying on the altar in prayer.
There is such a simpleness to it. But the Lord's Presence is here. You can tell He loves this place. He loves the attention. This is a place where you can stop, let go and rest in His Presence. You don't have to do anything, just lay at His feet and rest.
My prayer is that I can take this home. Oh how we need the River, how we need the rain. Shower down your grace, let your Holy Presence fill this place. Let your love and grace restore us.
Linda's words are those of so many. Oh, how we need the River, how we need the rain. Father, may we not miss you. It is still all about you Jesus, all about you.
