Uganda - Bill & Linda Campbell

Bill and I have now been home from Uganda for three months. We have been praying and planning every day about when we would be able to go back again. God has placed His passionate heart for the African people inside of us. Jesus is so in love with His beautiful African bride.
Before the end of the age, every village in every nation will have the gospel preached to them. They will all hear about the Savior, who shed His precious blood so they could know Him and love Him. They will hear that God is preparing a wedding feast for those who love the Son. Every person living will hear of His love for them. “The knowledge of the Lord will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea.” Jesus will be preached as Lord and not as Savior alone. The King will have multitudes of people that obey Him because they love Him. Entire villages and cities will give their heart and even their lives to Him.
Last November at the funeral of baby Rachel, we saw an entire village say “yes” to Jesus and give Him their hearts. If you are unfamiliar with this beautiful story, it is on our website and called, “Rachel’s Story”. This is only the beginning of what is in the heart of God. He wants His Son to be revealed in people and not just to them. He wants His church to look like Jesus, talk like Jesus, and act like Jesus.
Up to this point, we have done conferences and crusades in Uganda. We feel God is saying that His people in Uganda need to drink deeply from the river of life, which is Jesus. To accomplish this purpose, we believe He has told us to start a discipleship training institute where pastors can be trained and equipped to carry the glory of God to their nation. The message must not come in word only, but in power and demonstrations of the Spirit. One of the things Bill will be doing on this trip is locating a site to build a discipleship training center.
Uganda, although considered a Christian nation, has a large population of Islamic people. They are hungry just like the rest of the nation. When they see God heal someone in front of their eyes, they understand that He is the real God. Their hearts tell them that He is a God of love and is full of mercy and compassion for people.
When Bill and I went to the hospital in Jinja, we prayed in the children’s ward. There was a Muslim lady who would not let us pray for her for her child. We prayed for the woman child next to her. God took away this baby’s pain. She became joyful and started to testify to the goodness of God, and the Muslim lady tugged on Bill’s shirt. She was now ready to receive healing prayer for her child. As God touched her baby and brought healing, she then wanted to receive this Jesus as her Lord.
When Jesus walked the earth, He used miracles and healings to draw men to Himself. He is still using miracles today through His servants to bring the lost to Him. Today is the day of salvation.
We are still receiving emails from pastors speaking of what God had done while we were there and what He is continuing to do in the people of Uganda. Irin was the motel manager while we were in Lugazi. She was delivered from demonic spirits. Her letter is also on our website www.preparethewayministry.com.
We have a weekly radio broadcast, Prepare the Way Ministry Radio Broadcast, which is heard from Spirit F.M. in Mukono, and reaches about fifteen towns and all the villages surrounding them. Pastor Hudson Suubi is an African pastor, and he speaks for a few minutes at the end of each broadcast. He offers to meet with the people who need further help. Our website has the story of one of these meetings. Leaders from different nations are working together in unity. People are calling in to the station to testify that they have received salvation or healing.
Bill will be leaving on July 4th to fly to Uganda. He will spend two months working with the pastors and leaders of Jinja, Lugazi, Kampala and others that we have not yet learned to pronounce. This is quite a challenge for us. We know about two or three words in Lugandan, but fortunately most people speak at least some English.
Please pray as this will be a difficult time for us being separated for so long. We both believe that we heard from God to pursue this trip in this manner, so our delight is in obedience to His leading. Pray for protection for Bill against the onslaught of the enemy. Bill will attempt to bring food and Bibles to the people of eastern Uganda who have been forced off their land by violent rebels. These people are trying to survive in the city without shelter or food. Daily people are starving and dying on the streets. Many children are left as orphans. Pray for finances to come in so the work of God can go forth.
We had an unexpected yet wonderful phone call the other night. It was from a friend from years ago. He offered to pay to build an orphanage if we could find someone trustworthy to run it, and if we could supply support for the children. Bill will be looking for the site for this wonderful project. The home will house ten children with a widow or house parents to love and care for the children. The smaller size will allow a family type atmosphere. Most families in Uganda have seven or eight children so this will be perfect. From one home to many is what I trust God for. There are so many children that have suffered so much at such young ages.
We are anticipating spending more time in Uganda as God opens the doors. Please pray about joining with us to reach Africa. Let us know if you want to be on our prayer support team.
