Mexico Report From Missionaries David & Rowene Sheppard In Puebla, Mexico

Dear friends and partners,
David returned to Mexico due to responsibilities here, but Rowene enjoyed an extra 10 days in Vancouver with her family and friends. She thoroughly enjoyed ministering to homeless and other street people on the streets of downtown Vancouver one evening with Patricia King as well as speaking in our home church, Grace Christian Fellowship in Port Coquitlam.
We are now in the full swing of things in Puebla, preparing for the opening of our Logos Univ. campuses 10th school year, printing and distribution of the Newspaper and pastoring our church, Grace and Glory. Last Sunday we had a "full meal deal" with a great service, birthday celebrations, 7 people water baptized and a pot luck meal together.
It is encouraging to see that God is working in a big-time way among many of the neighbors of our colonia, especially among people whose lives we have somehow touched over the years without any apparent visible effect. PTL! God rewards our faithful persistence even though at times we don't seem to see anything happening.
Next Friday(Aug. 13) we are having a "Fresh Fire" day camp for young people and college students. Pray that many will come and that all will receive a humongous touch of the spirit, that some will be saved and all filled to over flowing with a passion for Jesus and for people. We would also ask that you consider sponsoring a Bible School student as we have several that would like to come who come from poor families and do not have the resources to pay their tuition. If the Lord speaks to you about sponsoring a student please ask us for the details. Also plerase pray for a man named Sergio, a leader in our church and Bible school. He almost had a heart attack today, has high blood pressure and high sugar and needs a miracle and much prayer.
