Fishing For Souls On The Shores Of Lake Victoria - Wesley Paul

Fishing for Souls on the shores of Lake Victoria

There we were walking on the shores of lake Victoria in Kisumu, Kenya, and Sammy a local vendor on the beach approaches us to engage us in conversation. God gave me the presence of mind to say, "2000 years ago there was a man who walked on the shores of a lake in Galilee, he looked over at some fishermen who were mending their nets, he bid them come and follow him." Looking Sammy in the eye I then said, "He is still calling people to follow him. Are you a follower of Jesus?" He stared into the ground, his response said it all. Noticing that he was still open to our dialogue, I continued by asking if he woud allow us to tell him how h e can become a follower of Jesus. Daniel Howard a young man, I am mentoring was standing nearby, I motioned him to come and take over the conversation. Forty-five minutes later, Sammy prayed to receive Christ as his savior. 2000 years later, he still walks to the shores of .....still calling people to follow him.

When we are out there in the world, we must open our eyes and see the harvest is plenty. Look for things you can relate to people. In our case we used the lake and the fishing to relate to Jesus. It was a perfect setting to talk about God. The apostle Paul in Acts 17 related the worship to Unknown as knowing Christ. Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and he will guide you and set up the right opportunities.

The Glory of God visits Lunch Hour Meeting at a local Theatre.
Everyday around 1:00 PM the local Christians gather at a local theatre for worship and a time of listening to some preaching for an hour. Since Monday I have been preaching. I preached on Zacchaeus and his repentance. When I called people to come forward and get things right with God, hardly four or five came forward. As we concluded the host pastor came to pray. He then startled us all with a revelation that God gave him. He received a vision of Jesus, his face was before him weeping and crying bitterly over the
hardness of the people. He then issued a call and asked people to get thing right, almost all in attendance gestured a posture of repentance. The next day I spoke on the subject, "We have the form of Godliness and deny the power of God." I gave an altar call, more than half got up from their seats and came to the altar, there they were weeping and praying. This same pastor had another vision. In this he saw the glory of God stand at the entrance to the theatre, after seeing the response of the people at the altar that same spirit or glory of God then came and hovered over those at the altar. It was a remarkable experience. Those at the altar, including me could sense a power and presence beyond our understanding. We were deeply moved and touched by the glory of God. I can't wait for tommorow, to see what God has in store. God is doing some awesome things here in the lives of people. Let us rejoice in it and give God the glory.

Training Evangelists.
Over the last four days we have met with more than 150 people and trained them in evangelism. Today, I met with 30 evangelists and trained them with Evangecube. Daniel and I encouraged them in doing the work of an evangelist. It was time well invested in their lives. I am certain they will reproduce themselves. Already they have promised to win at least one soul by the end of this year. May God enable them and give them a great harvest.

Continue to pray for me and Daniel as we labour in Kisumu. Warren is in Nairobi training leaders at the Redeemed Gospel Church in Leadership and Discipleship.

Thank you for praying and supporting this work.

Yours in the Harvest,

Wesley and Daniel
