Kalifani’s Name is Changed
Kalifani, a young eighteen year old, Moslem was strolling down the main street of Lugazi, Uganda on an ordinary Sunday morning. The reed walls of Lugazi Miracle Center did not hinder Pastor Hudson Suubi’s voice from being carried to Kalfani’s ears. This young man had no idea that he was about to have an encounter with the Most High God. Kalifani was drawn by the Holy Spirit into the service. The Word of God pierced deep into his heart as he heard the message of the Cross for the first time. He had always believed that Jesus was his enemy. His heart was captured by the love of God. From his early years he had been taught to attack Christians. Kalifani’s entire being was filled with light and love as he allowed Jesus entrance.
He returned to his village, eager to share the news with his family and friends. His becoming a Christian, was not well received by them. His father disowned him. The family chased him out of his home and the village.
Pastor Bill’s parents, Gloria and Wally were so touched by this story. They decided to sponsor him. When Kalifani heard the news, he became overjoyed. He began praying that God would give him a Christian name. On the other side of the world form Africa, Gloria felt that he needed the new name of Peter Paul. She sent him a list of names asking if he wanted to pick a new name. He chose Peter Paul. Peter Paul had just received his first lesson on faith. I was there to see the joy in his eyes and the jump in his step as he declared, “I never knew being a Christian could be so wonderful!” He was presented with a new Bible to “Peter Paul for the glory of God”.
Bill took this very young Christian boy with him to minister in another village that no Muzungo (white man) had ever entered. Peter Paul gave his testimony and was close to Bill during the prayer ministry time. He is being discipled by Pastor Hudson.
Healing, Salvation, and a Home
Bob and Debby Spruill took a team of young, African men to the hospital to train them in prayer ministry. They went from bed to bed, praying healing and freedom over the sick.
Debby went to the bedside of a young girl, Stella, who was about thirteen. Stella was curled up with her knees to her chest rocking in pain. She had been severely beaten resulting in damage to her liver. Debby tenderly reached out her hand in love to this wounded child. Stella winced in pain as Debby gently placed her hand on the girl’s abdomen.
Debby spoke words of life and healing over her. The tension in Stella’s face was soon replaced by a smile. Next, she rolled over on to her belly. Her pain was gone! Stella asked Jesus to come into her life to be her Lord and Savior! Stella told Debby that she loved her. She wanted to go home with them and be their daughter.
The following week, Bob, Debby, and their team returned to the same hospital. Stella had been discharged! Many of the other people they had prayed for had also been released from the hospital because they had no reason to stay!
Bob and Debby were told that Stella was an orphan. She was living with some of her friends on a temporary basis. They made the decision to sponsor Stella and move her into Faith Children’s Home, where she would be surrounded by love and become equipped to carry the glory of God to others. She is a sweet and happy girl. Her eyes are aglow with joy.
Update on Pastor Bill
Bill spoke at Evangel Church, the largest church in Jinja, during the hour lunch hour service which lasts 2 hours. Bill reports the services have been powerful! He spoke on the precious presence of God. People were weeping in their seats while he spoke on knowing God. The sweet, sweet presence of God was so strong that Bill was speechless. As he prayed, God broke into their lives.
Pastor Bill returned to the bush church in Seeya to speak at a one day pastor’s and leader’s conference. The pastors came from the surrounding churches. The people in this area have been good receivers. Bill loves preaching in this village. Lunch was served, and there was a wonderful time of fellowship.
Mukono Deliverance Church hosted Bill for a one week conference. People saw themselves as they really were. They also saw everything that was in the way of intimacy with Jesus. They started falling out of their chairs and crying out for more of God. The presence of the Holy Spirit filled the church. Irene, our African daughter, is now praying along side the pastors. The anointing now rests upon her as she ministers. She will be moving into Faith Children’s Home and under the guidance of Pastor Hudson and Mercy,
She will oversee the children.
Lugazi Miracle Center had been preparing to accompany Pastor Bill to the bush village of Budwigga. This is the home village of the witch doctor by the name of Charles Mwase.
This was the ministry trip that Peter Paul was on. Bill preached, the team led the worship, and joined Bill in praying for the people.
Each day has been filled with ministry to crowds. Mornings have been for prayer and evenings after the services have found Bill and his side-kick, Pastor Hudson meeting with new friends. Some of them are watching to see what Christianity looks like. He has a dear friend who is a Moslem and another who is Hindu. Relationship and love soften the hearts of men. If Jesus is lifted up, He will draw all men unto Himself.
The rental house is bursting at the seams. The believers that were keeping the children have been financially unable to continue to do so. As a result, the rental unit is now housing 18-20 of God’s beautiful and joyful children. Please pray that God will move on hearts to sponsor these children. We have taken a step of faith and started them all in school. Bill says, “It is time to be like Abraham! He hoped when things were hopeless, and his faith was activated in the presence of God. He believed God’s grace would enable to do what God instructed him to do. “In the presence of Him whom he believed…God who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; who contrary to hope, in hope believed.” To view the pictures of the children or sponsor a child, click the link to http://www.preparethewayministry.com/, choose the “Rescue” tab and scroll down to and click on “View the Children”. God has revealed that Faith Children’s Home will be an equipping center for the future pastors, teachers, evangelists, prophets, and leaders in Uganda.
March 16th Pastor Hudson and Pastor Bill will be traveling by bus for 18 hours to Bungoma, Kenya. Hudson and Bill will be imparting into the pastors and leaders of the area.
March 21st they will leave Kenya and travel to Arusha, Tanzania. Bill will be speaking in Pastor Solomon Mwasiga’s church daily for seven days. This is the city where Bill spoke on unusual miracles. He took off a young girls shoe and prayed like Paul did over a handkerchief. She took it home, placed it on her mother, prayed, and watched God heal her dying mother immediately and completely. They will also spend time at the YWAM base challenging the students. Cliff Pash of Advancing the Kingdom will join Bill and Hudson in Arusha, and they will minister together.
Please continue to uphold us in prayer. Each member who was on the Africa trip has experienced “attack” from the enemy. I want to give God the glory and thank you for praying for Bill’s dad, Wally Campbell. Our daughter, Amy, and I drove out to Colorado. We spoke life over him. We called Bill in Africa, and he prayed over his father. We could feel the strength of your prayer. God showed us how intercession works in His Kingdom. It was the prayers of the body of Christ that changed the circumstances in his life from downward to upward. The faith level of Gloria and Wally was very high. Wally with his teeth wired shut told his son, “You must stay in Africa. The enemy wants you to come home. You must continue doing the work of God.” Wally was out of Intensive Care in 2 hours and home in 2 days. It is your prayer that pushes back the darkness in Africa. Prepare the Way Ministry is about the body of Christ being in one accord, and through prayer actually “preparing the way” for Jesus Christ to take His rightful place as Lord over Africa.
