Prepare the Way Ministry in Uganda
Bill and Linda Campbell
Pastor Bill has been ministering 1-3 times a day for nearly two months. You can only imagine that his time to write reports is very limited. Because of this, I am going to send email reports from various pastors whose lives have been touched as Bill has ministered in their churches and villages. This letter was received from Pastor Nicholas Ongamo who pastors and oversees the churches of Kakira Christian Center Family of Churches.
Dear Saints,
What a blessing to have this opportunity to write this report to you, after weeks of struggling to put it on the internet. There have been power loading problems and regular network failures.
The Busalama Christian Centre is a ministry and sister church of Kakira Christian Centre in Kakira, Uganda. This bush village church has never had a foreign missionary or preacher coming for any meeting there. We sent an invitation to Pastor Bill Campbell to come over and help teach and minister to our people in the villages. We remained in constant prayers for that day to come. Some were doubting if he would really come to the bush, since he was committed to a lot of ministry engagements.
Finally on 9th March, Bill arrived ready for the one day “All Believers Seminar”. We had invited leaders from other churches and their flocks to be come and be blessed too.
During all the sessions of the seminar, Bill touched on the main life issues of a village leader and his ministry to the poor villagers. Pointing to Jesus as our model, Bill spoke of how He loved the villagers as well as the town dwellers. A balanced ministry will help reach the nations and accomplish the great commission. Many were touched by the message. It helped them know that their labor was not in vain, and a great reward was waiting for them too. God saw them just as those who remain faithful in their citywide ministries.
Many were prayed for deliverance, healing and various needs. A lady whom had backache pains for 3 months was healed. A young man named Joseph, who in his 20s was restored back to God. His ministry remained under oppression and he felt to quit for the past one year. We have welcomed him in our team of village missions. We are going
to help him move forward in the power of the Holy Spirit. People were very responsive as they listened carefully to what the Lord was speaking to them through His servant.
SOURCE VILLAGE
The date was 10th March. The Kakira Christian Centre ministry team and members had organized for Bill to minister in this bush village church which meets under the shade of a large tree. The villagers spend most of their morning and part of their afternoon working on the sugar plantation, and in other villages to earn their living. We assumed to have an afternoon open air meeting.
The villagers turned up in good number since they have heard that the foreign missionary was to minister in their village. This was a wonderful blessing since the first white minister in the village was Reverend Cliff Pash last year in November. At that time this
village church was born.
People fought the rain storms as they listened to the message and waiting for their blessings. They were assured that God would change their lives.
Twenty people gave their lives to Christ after the altar call. Among them was Mr. Source, himself. The villagers went wild when they saw him come forward to renew his relationship with God. He had given his life to God during Cliff’s ministry in November but could not continue in discipleship. From that day, he has remained in the church. He assured my wife Maria that he will never backslide again. Praise the Lord that he has remained faithful to his confession. The following Sunday saw 15 new souls in the church. Praise the Lord! We had wonderful healing testimonies too and we still receive reports of those who were blessed and delivered.
Bill’s ministry has helped our village ministry to move a step further. Now the question that we are receiving from Busalama Village and Source Village is, “Why one day only?” People want him to come again, but for a series of several days of such meetings. Busalama Church and the neighbors say, that if they could have known of such, they would have invited and mobilized many of their friends and church members to
come.
Pray that God will open a door for Bill to visit those villages again, for an extended time.
May the Lord provide and move mightily for the Prepare the Way Ministry’s out reach into Africa. Thanks to the dear partners who helped send this man of God to be a blessing to our people and our nation. Your reward is great.
