Mighty Outpouring Of God's Annointing

Last Sunday 17th April 2005 we had a buisiness man visit our church from Texas USA. On the evening the Elders met and prayed with him. This is the letter that he has since sent back to us saying that he recieved a mighty touch from God that has so far lasted one week.
Here is Bobs letter that he sent to us.
Dear Friends in Christ in Castle Bromwich, God has chosen to use your church in what I can only describe as imparting an incredible anointing. I am not a person who has a strong gift of discernment or gets many strong physical touches from the Lord, but that’s OK because I know God wants to build faith in me and keep me holding fast to His Word and away from feelings. I certainly know that I don’t have to feel anything for Him to work deeply, and I know not to look for feelings as a way to validate His presence. BUT…. just when you think you have God pegged…. well…..as we all know, that’s exactly when He may choose to surprise us! On Sunday night I was at David and Glennis’s house. While in the conservatory, David, Rob and Herbert gathered around the chair I was sitting in to lay hands on me and pray for me, David was on my left. Herbert was slightly behind me on the right, and Rob was directly in front of me. All three were standing. David and Herbert put their hands on my shoulders and Rob put his hand over my head but was not touching me. They began to pray in tongues, and then they began to pray in English. As they began to pray in English, God chose to release upon me something I have never felt before. As each man began to pray for me, I felt something like a stream of oil coming down on my head and slowly spreading out on my hair. The three of them prayed prayers, and I don’t remember how many exactly, but there was a sequence of three prayers where this thing happened. I need to give you some details because it is important later in the story. I began to feel a flow of anointing coming down on my head, exactly in the position where they were standing around me. There was one on the top left side where David was standing that started while he prayed. Another one started at the back right side while Herbert prayed. And there was yet another one on the top and a little to the front that started when Rob prayed. On all three it was the same. It was as if when you pour something, you start a bit carefully at first with a small stream, and then you increase the flow more and more until you reach the rate you wanted and then you just keep pouring. That’s what it felt like as they prayed. Now since I knew that Rob had his hand over my head I wanted to make sure this was really God and not just Rob’s hand close to my head and lightly touching my hair, so in order to verify this, I moved my head slightly several times as we were praying to make sure I did not bump into Rob’s hand. Rob also told me later he had not touched my head during the entire prayer. Yes this was truly God. By the end of the three prayers the anointing felt like it had spread around my head so that most, if not all of my hair was covered from those three spots. Towards the end of that prayer, while being prayed for, a thought entered my head (I believe it was the Lord that reminded me of this) that Bakersfield, as a servant city, is a place that people do come to from all over the world to be blessed, and I realized that I too had just come from afar and was being blessed at that very moment! So I told Rob, David and Herbert about all that had happened and said that there were three spots of anointing on my head. I did not tell them at the time, but I clearly remember that each spot had the same rate of flow of anointing. No spot was different from the others in intensity. This is important later. Rob and Herbert said their goodbye’s and David was going to drive me back to my hotel in Birmingham. Glennis on the spur of the instant (it must have been the Holy Spirit) suggested that she would like to ride with David and I to spend a bit more time visiting, and we had a wonderful time talking about the Lord. Now I need to say here that despite my offer to sit in the back seat, Glennis insisted on me sitting next to David in the front passenger seat in order to give me more leg room, and she chose to sit directly behind me. We had a great time visiting and I said my goodbye’s to them at the hotel. When I got back to my hotel room later, I was sitting in a chair in my hotel room thanking the Lord for His goodness to arrange my schedule to bring me to the Castle of Bromwich and to worship with you all that morning, and for all the wonderful people I had met, and so many things that I had learned from being with you all that day. Well I suddenly noticed that along with the other three anointing spots on my head, there was now a fourth spot too! I had not noticed when it started, but I do know it was definitely not there when David and Glennis and I left the house together to drive to the hotel. This fourth one was just as strong as the other three. Where was this spot? It was at the back center of my head a bit lower down. I asked the Lord what does this mean, and then remembered that Glennis was directly behind me in the car on the entire drive back to the hotel, and that was exactly where this spot was! That fourth spot was at the time, and still is just as strong as the other three. This I believe was the blessing of her presence, just as if she had joined in and prayed over me as well! What can you learn from this oh church? I believe that God wants to tell you, as well as to make it clear to me, that this anointing is from your church – men and women – and it not from just a part of the church, (like being imparted from just the elders of the church or just from the men of the church). The whole church was being represented in this anointing on a visitor to your city. And note that the intensity was exactly the same for all four anointing spots, even though one of the four people had not specifically joined in the prayer time. This anointing did not even subside that whole evening, or night, or the next day. It stayed constant during my entire trip back to Texas. About 30 hours later, as soon as I reached home on Monday night, I prayed for my wife and one-flesh, Marisa and imparted the anointing to her as well, and she felt a brief physical touch of anointing on her head similar to what I had felt. I also immediately went and prayed over my two children while they were sleeping. Marisa sends her love to you all by the way. Just now Tuesday later afternoon, and 48 hours later, I prayed for an impartation for two people that had been responsible for this trip happening from a logistics standpoint. The physical anointing is still pouring upon me as I write this, although today it has finally started to diminish in its intensity. I don’t know how long God will keep this physical manifestation going, but I’m sure that part of the reason it has lasted so long is to encourage you and for you to have a glimpse into the importance of what God is calling you to. Remember that God waited to unleash the strongest manifestation of His presence I have ever experienced, and he waited until I was in your church and in your city. Why did this anointing happen to my wife and I right now? The only thing I believe the Lord is saying is that it is in preparation for something important and perhaps not easily done. I will keep you posted as it may be relevant to you as well. Let me conclude by saying that if any of you come to Austin Texas you have a spare room at our house waiting for you.
