Auchi Gospel Explosion

In obedience to the command to take the gospel and miracle power of the risen Christ to the nations – impacting lives and destinies with the Word, Rev. Mike Amamieye and his team traveled to Auchi for a GOSPEL EXPLOSION. Auchi is an ancient town in the north of Edo State of Nigeria. It is a core Islamic town. The king is an avowed Muslim.
Although Auchi was a divisional office during the colonial era, the Islamic hold on it has left it behind in years. The town suffers from serious erosion. Due to the topography of the town, water is a serious need. There is practically a great need for water in the town.
Our team of three led by the President of Aggressive Faith Ministries, Rev. Michael O. Amamieye, Programmes Director, Rev. Adeyemo Omotosho and Administrative Assistant, Evang. Celestine Ikechukwu set out to Auchi April 20, 2005. The journey lasted for nine hours of travel by road. We traveled in old rickety wagon cars that wore us out completely when we arrived at Auchi. It was so bad that Rev. Mike Amamieye could not attend the service that night. The solution to this situation is having a good car. In fact, a four wheel drive that can ride on rugged terrain particularly as most of our roads in Nigeria are in terrible condition. If you or someone you know can give us a four wheel drive for world evangelism, please, let us know. We need it if we will do this work and be preserved physically. Since we have at least fifty years ahead of us to do this work and finish our course if the Lord tarries.
We were received by our host, Bishop Fred Okhimamhe and went to our guest room. The guest house was an apology. We had no choice because that was what was available. The water problem became evident as a certain quantity of water is allocated to each room. So we had to manage the little water allocated to us. That meant not using water as usual.
That first night, as I prayed in the guest room while Rev. Adeyemo and Evang. Celestine went for the service, I asked the Lord what we should do to help our brother and friend, Bishop Fred. The idea of water stuck with my heart. Since this is a major need in the town, I thought that it would be great to see that Jesus still gives water to quench the thirst of the people. From my discussion with Bishop Fred, to make a borehole that will supply water will cost a lot of money because of the terrain. For the sake of reaching the lost, we will do it. Our God whom we serve is more than able. He will supply the men, money and materials for this project.
One of my major mentors has been Dr. T. L. Osborn whose materials have been instrumental in shaping my life and ministry to reaching the lost. I am also thankful to God for the opportunities I have had to sit under his ministry and ask questions on a one on one basis. Dr. Osborn taught me a principle. He said, if you find a need, meet it. I believe that this is the expression of true Christian love. Paul tells Philemon, your love has refreshed and cheered the saints. Philemon 7. True Christian love affects its community positively.
I was in Ghana some years ago when the Lord spoke to my heart. He said, Son, as you go, give the people what is needful for the body. This word became the foundation for our total gospel outreaches as we give medical aid, food, clothing’s, etc. If it is Jesus physically present, He would do the same thing that we are doing.
“Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.” John 5:19.
As a ministry, we are partnering with our brother in that land where he has labored for the past twenty-six years. We trust the Lord to use us to refresh and cheer him. He told us several stories of how they have been attacked several times by the Islamic community. Several times the church has been burgled. Once a grave was dug and enchantments made. Several times they have been attacked physically. Recently, one of the nearby villages where they had a church plant, the only church in that village, the son of the man who gave them the house to us for church was killed. He and his family have survived several attacks. None of these have stopped the church from going on.
Like Paul said, “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” Acts 20:24.
As I write this report, I believe the Lord to move the hearts of people who read this to help us make this WATER OF LIFE available to an Islamic community. You can make this water of life available as an individual, family, group, organization, church or corporation. Just let us know how you want to partner with us to give water to a community that Jesus came to save.
To provide one bore hole in this town will cost about three thousand dollars because of the terrain. For the two bore holes, our budget is about six thousand dollars ($6,000). Six persons can make a donation of one thousand dollars. Twelve persons can donate five hundred dollars. Thirty persons can give two hundred dollars. Sixty persons can give one hundred dollars. What can you give? What can your organization or corporation or church give? Whatever you give, will be seen on the wall that will have the message: JESUS GIVES WATER OF LIFE BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU!
