Georgia - Eleventh Hour Miracle Saves Life
July 4, 2006
Dear Precious Praying Friends,
Saturday and Sunday were probably two of the hardest days of our lives for our family. The doctors told us that they wanted to take the breathing tube out and do a Tracheotomy. Bob had been in a coma since friday morning. He was swelling from all the liquids and his hands and feet were cold. The doctors gave us no assurance that he would ever come out of this state.
Knowing that Bob would never want to live like this, and after praying, crying and seeking the Lord with all our heart, we told the doctors to take him off the respirator and to not proceed with the tracheotomy. He had suffered enough. We called family members and friends in the United States and they all agreed that Bob would not want to live like a vegetable. The hospital halls and waiting rooms here were filled with people praying for us. It was the most heart wrenching thing that I had ever been through. We had until this morning to confirm our decision.
I begged God to make the decision for us because it was to hard.
The doctors were going to start the procedure to take him off the machine at seven oclock in the morning. At six oclock AM, I was awaken by a nurse to come to the ICU. She motioned for me to go to Bob's bed and THERE HE LAY WITH EYES WIDE OPEN. He did not respond to me very well but he was awake. I called Steve and Philip. At 6:30, we went back in and he began to respond by nodding his head to our questions. The doctor came in a short time later and told us that God had answered prayers. He said that the tracheotomy would not be necesary. When I asked about the fluid in Bob's lungs, he said that his lungs were all clear. He pointed his finger above and said, "This has come from a greater power than us".
Bob is still in intensive care. The breathing tube is out. He is on oxygen which will be removed tommorow. He has alot of fleem and soreness in his throat caused by the respirator tube. The doctors dont know yet the extent of damage the stroke could have caused to his brain but he has been saying a few words to us today. We are praising God tonight.
PLEASE KEEP PRAYING BECAUSE HE HAS A LONG WAY TO GO. GOD IS WITH US HERE IN TEGUCIGALPA, HONDURAS.
In Christ,
Joan, Philip and Steve Tyson
