Don't Drop Your Sword!

For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.—Hebrews 4:12
My fellow saints, you can take vitamins, you can exercise, you can practice great skills in the natural to help you through this life; yet nothing will last eternally for all you do for yourself, your family and your hurting world like "keeping God's Word near your lips!" We must grab hold of the Word!
The writer of Hebrews symbolized a double-edged sword compared to the Word of God—to the very weapon in our arsenal, which is extraordinarily proactive. In the day that Hebrews was written, the sword was extremely important. Battles had been won and lost over the lack or ability to brandish the sword. The more logos we consume in our daily diets, the sharper our declared rhema becomes in the unsheathing of our prophetic sword! In the spiritual realm today in the life of every Believer, skillful and continuous application of God's Word (the complete Word) is even more essential—written (logos) and spoken (rhema).
God's Word was preached in verbal form, lived out in person by Jesus, and finally placed in a stable—the written form. In every form it is more proficient than any human instrument. It is a dynamic, active power constantly at work in peoples' lives, cutting to the deepest area of humans personality. God's inspired Word reveals all a person is and can become. The Word judges every person in relationship to God's will and way. The judgment centers on possibility, plans and position (or attitude), not simply on individual acts. Good works count, but redeemed actions last forever!
The Word in Relationship to God's Will and Way
The capabilities of the Word of God are clearly featured in Hebrews 4:12. The nature of God's Word is that of life-giving communication. Furthermore, God's Word is sharp and penetrating, acting as a critic of the thought-life and the motivations or purposes of the human heart. Note that the Word of God has the unique ability, not merely to discover the merit of men's actions, but also, to reveal hidden motivations. Thus, "all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account" (Hebrews 4:13).
The writer of Hebrews is meaning the double-sided sword is indeed the inspired Word of God—the Holy Spirit breathed Scriptures. Both living and active, it has the only power to reach to the deepest parts of one's personality and to judge the innermost thoughts.
The symbolism through both soul and spirit represent the Word piercing to the depths of our person's (soul) and heart (spirit), not only between the two—yet down into, going through-and-through! They stand for the innermost facets of our being—supernatural nature—the very "soul" of every person is beyond earthly nature, just as joints and marrow signifies the material aspect. Similarly soul and spirit can be involved in what pleases or displeases God.
Another human does not have the authority as the Creator to decree what God said in Genesis, "it was very good." Genesis 1:31, "And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good."
If our tongue is a "dagger of cutting remarks" God hears it against His work! We must allow God's sword to go to the depths of both soul and spirit. Let us begin by entering His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. We cannot be praising God in His presence and not have the purging Word of God, convict us and surgically remove the junk!
Prophetic Song of the Lord
The "Prophetic Song of the Lord" is on the increase now in our country! Please receive this cleansing prophetic "Song of the Lord" as another channel of God's healing impartation into His own people that points to Him as a Bridegroom espousing the Church to Himself, and as a King ruling in it, and for it—and forever and ever—world without end, amen! As in this example of praise as the sword of God's Word sung to Him, this Psalm is also a prophecy of Messiah the Prince!
Psalm 45:3-4—To the tune of "Lilies." Of the Sons of Korah. A maskil. A wedding song:
Gird Your sword on Your thigh, O Mighty One, in Your splendor and Your majesty! And in Your majesty ride on victoriously, for the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness; let Your right hand teach Your awesome things.
This is a Psalm sung by the "sons of Korah" who demonstrated the power of "worship" as an immeasurable asset for everyone who loves the Lord. Additionally, worship is like a mighty sword of offense against the enemies of God and His family! This Psalm portrays a rare yet vital combination of Kingdom citizens carefully handling the sword of the Lord before the court of the King. Many sojourners were granted an audience with the King bearing lots of gifts, but the King's greatest delight came from the citizens of his kingdom yearning to offer the King a festive wedding dance accompanied by music and singing and adoration presented as an offering of praise in the presence of the King! What could compare to that gift?
Prophetic Word to Our Nation
Our country is about to experience an explosion of the channel of the "Prophetic Song of the Lord" as never before! The U.S. is opening up to the presentation of God's Word through the channel of the "arts expressions" as never before. We are a land that has many talented young people who will not be from the "preaching crowd" that will open the ears of the deafened souls that have been "screamed at" long enough with no fruit of love to draw them to the heart of the Father!
God is now taking the "radically branded youth" who will not take this indoors, but outside to the streets, to the malls, to the coffee houses, to the hillsides and to the parking lots. They will become the authorized by God, arts channels, to yes, be real and be the singing minstrels of God's declared Words in Psalm, in dance, in drama, in plays, in stand-up comedies, in 1, 2, and 3 act plays. These will become the razor-sharp Words of God, painstakingly handled in love to perform affectionately the surgery on hearts that the religious are tagging as doomed!
We must embrace this change to view our Prophetic Song of the Lord and become the modern-day American version of the "Sons (and Daughters) of Korah." What the enemy meant for bad—just like in the Korah descendents—the Father is turning to the good, and it will be a key that unlocks a move in our nation as never seen! We are about to be overrun with news grabbing, national eye-opening, Spirit-empowered radical, "Korah Company" groups who will be in a park near you soon! God is about to teach old wine skins that He is always into a healing message, but must have a channel that will not place His good in a box!
Now is the day that our Father is sending forth well-trained, professional, yet very anointed "Sons and Daughters of Korah" that will take over all campuses from grade school through graduate school. This channel will be the multi-faceted Word of God, embraced because it is in a "gift wrapped" package of "Arts" as delivered to the hearts of hurting, decreed from the art, as saying our God is bigger! Praise Offerings to the King
No loyal citizen to the King could possess hidden agendas while abiding in the shelter of the Kings inner sanctuary! Gates opened for those who were known by the King that always brought words of sacrifice as praise to the King. A word was always near their lips in a total posture of surrender, as they would bow low before His royalty signifying their pleasure for their King. In the atmosphere of the King, praise offerings have a cleansing affect removing any foreign or hidden agendas from the hearts of those who hunger to worship their King!
To all who hunger for more of the King, our Messiah, the Sovereign Lord releases the authority from Heaven into the worshipper! The sword of worship is more powerful than our "enemy's entire arsenal." All troubles disappear within this supernatural realm during passionate love offerings continually presented to the King of kings.
Thus, as treasure within the formation of the inspired canon of Scripture, this "Korah company" Psalm was not so intended as "weaponry" as much as additional prophetic release announcing the future Messiah. The literal translation from the original language continue to astound Biblical scholars of how choice the words were selected that could only point to Jesus as Messiah, and our Messiahs soon-coming wedding celebration.
The "sons of Korah" truly have released a rare gem of worship into God's courts of praise! Drawing from only this one example, our hearts are attracted to experience this perpetual adoration for our King, our Messiah. One day, as we enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise, we will be trumpeted by the announcement of the Kings wedding feast! Yes, our King, our Messiah and soon our Bridegroom will call us unto His table, and we will continually celebrate the wedding feast between both Bridegroom and the Bride! "Gird Your sword on Your thigh, O Mighty One, In Your splendor and Your majesty!"
Praise and worship are the first lines of defense against any foe of the King and His Kingdom. Additionally this Psalm gives us both a description of the King's palace in battle and of the Messiah's mission. Our King and Messiah remain vigilant on our behalf defending our basic godly virtues—truth, humility and righteousness, and to establish God's eternal Kingdom. A quality of God's anointed is portrayed as skillfully handling the sword of God's passionate love for His Bride, while bearing the fruits righteousness and justice.
On the other edge of the sword as heirs to the King's throne and being sons and daughters, we become a people who also possesses a "holy" opposition to sin and wickedness. True worship before the King deepens our relationship while purifying our hearts through "singing the Word," as we dwell in the courts of praise. This process is the key that must be multiplied to those who do not realize this is the way of abiding in constant cleansing from impure motives.
God inhabits our courts of praise unto Him. Yet never take for granted that the sword of the Lord is a weapon to rend human ability and the enemies of our souls! We have a mighty arsenal by incorporating praise and worship to our King and Messiah.
Word of God "Speak!"
Now it is time that our nation must hear from the Redeemed of the Lord, that the only double-edged justice system I am allowed to share is God's powerful Word. Take notice that many are saying or speaking their minds now, yet God instructs in Psalm 107:2 to: "Let the redeemed of the LORD say so."
It is the redeemed of the Lord who know through prayerful concern, to allow the surgery of God's Word rend "soulish" motives and then His sword does the "speaking." As we present His healing Word carefully, lovingly and with the balance that comes from the Father's handcrafted blade, this double-edged sword cuts into the very intentions of humans motives of their hearts.
Consequently, God's skilled messenger is not hoping to chop His created beings to pieces, yet to perform skilled surgery, allowing the Word of God to accomplish the work and demonstrating what is meant by: justice is a double-edged sword!
For those who use this, it is always ready to cut away the users and the receivers flawed intentions. When pure hearts mature through many battles, we are then able to wield the sword correctly, maintaining a firm grip on the Word that is always accomplishing what it was sent to complete! Speak the Word into ourselves then out to others! The enemy trembles at the Believer who completely depend upon the sharp and powerful double-edged sword of God's Word. The devil does all he can to keep Christians from depending upon the Word of God for their daily armament.
This is what the Scripture says: "The Word [rhema] is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart." That is the teaching of faith that we are telling.—Romans 10:8
The Lord seems to be reminding us that if we allow His sword to pierce into our flesh, to literally "filet us" down to the bone of the spirit, then we will receive His powerful "Scalpel of the-Logos-Written Word" to bring us solid meat in our spiritual life.
Don't Drop Your Sword!
God is our Creator, our King of kings, and our Father, forever looking over His own. As we draw closer to Him, you may be assured He is drawing nearer to us. The sword that we need is not so much a "weapon of defense," as it is a razor-sharp sword for offense to advance the Kingdom. That is demonstrated in the "Sons of Korah" singing the purifying words of life into their people, before them in the lands they would occupy. That same early word for such a sword is "charab." This word means that those who use it are actually "a unified affront as a combined safeguard to be seen as a sword by the enemy, guarding their King's territory."
They are all skilled swordsmen and experienced warriors. Each one wears a sword on his thigh, ready to defend the king against an attack during the night.—Song of Songs 3:8
Today is the day of salvation as we continue to reside in the "dispensation of the age of grace" and not judgment. We have our mission: to seek and to save that which was lost. Everyone is searching for security and the Church must become a cohesive unit to demonstrate the only sword we hold together is the one that cuts the enemy after their souls asunder!
Let us now lock arms with our "family in the Lord"; always reminding each other in love to be diligent to use the surgery of the sword for "salvation" and not destruction! This is the day to be pure in heart, to conform into the image of Christ with our lives, and then live this before a desperate world. This is the day to remind our family of our mission and to use His Word as a sword of love and healing.
Oh yes, and one other thing—let your brothers and sisters be reminded: Don't drop your sword!
